Clinical Social Worker and Therapist in Psychoanalytic Formation
Yarden Avital, PhD, LMSW, is a clinical social worker and therapist in psychoanalytic formation. He practices Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis and offers psychodynamic, supportive, and culturally sensitive therapy. His work reflects a particular interest in listening for the uniqueness of each personโs language and experience. Dr. Avital earned a PhD in history from Rutgers University in 2021 and an MSW from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, CUNY. He is especially equipped to work with graduate and doctoral students, and he has experience working with immigrants, veterans, artists and performers, academics, and LGBTQ+ individuals. He provides individual therapy, couples therapy, and telehealth services in English and Hebrew. His areas of focus include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, and other concerns such as bipolar disorder, chronic pain, psychosis, and suicidal ideation.
